In a disturbing turn of events, a 35-year-old local resident found himself in hot water after allegedly assaulting two police officers in Deggendorf, Lower Bavaria, last Friday evening. The adversity began when the individual got into an argument with a 24-year-old woman on the street, resulting in the man kicking her.
Upon arrival of law enforcement personnel, attempting to apprehend the assailant, the woman reportedly tried to intervene on her acquaintance's behalf, repeatedly attempting to free him. Things escalated further as the man retaliated by lashing out, hurling insults and threats towards the officers, and even allegedly spitting in their faces. The officers were left with minor injuries due to the altercation.
The duo was subsequently detained for the night and matters are currently under investigation by the local authorities.
Although the region of Lower Bavaria has been the scene of recent security incidents, such as cyber attacks at a hospital in Ingolstadt and a medical practice in Hof, as well as an Instagram account hack of a political party in Munich, this incident does not appear to be connected.
