Man accused of murdering a father and son in central London
Mount Pleasant Lane Man Charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and Murder Following Stabbing Incident
Hassan Cevik, a 31-year-old resident of Mount Pleasant Lane, Hackney, has been charged in connection with a tragic incident that occurred at a business premises on Long Lane in Bermondsey, central London, on July 28, 2025.
The charges against Cevik include:
- Two counts of murder, in relation to the deaths of Terry McMillan (58) and his son Brendan McMillan (27).
- One count of grievous bodily harm, related to a 47-year-old man who was also stabbed during the incident.
- Possession of an offensive weapon.
The Metropolitan Police reported that four individuals were treated for stab wounds at the scene of the incident. Sadly, Brendan McMillan died at the scene, while his father Terry McMillan passed away shortly afterwards in hospital.
Cevik was arrested at the scene on July 28 and was also hospitalized due to stab wounds he sustained. He was discharged from hospital on Saturday and was charged with the aforementioned offenses on Sunday.
Cevik is due to appear before Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Terry McMillan, a 58-year-old man from Chislehurst, Bromley, has also been charged with the murder of his son, Brendan McMillan. The exact nature of his involvement in the incident remains unclear at this time.
