Maldonado prevails overhang: BHC series maintains control

In the opening minute of the fierce encounter, Eloy Morante Maldonado capitalized on the opportunity to score the first goal for BHC, initiating a thrilling series of scores. Despite the favorites asserting their dominance, the relegation-threatened northern Germans managed to equalize. The match drew the attention of Bundestrainer Alfred Gislasson, who was present to observe local talent Aron Seesing, along with other prospects.

Maldonado clinched his second goal, making it 8-6 in the 15th minute, further expanding BHC's advantage. Einar Nickelsen reduced the deficit to just one goal in the 18th minute, setting the stage for a dramatic comeback. Kaj Geenen equalized at 12-12, putting pressure on BHC, who were visibly shaken following the red card shown to Elias Scholtes for a hand to an opponent's throat or face in the 21st minute.

Capitalizing on the weakness, Lübeck-Schwartau snatched the lead, making it 15-13 by the 23rd minute. Johannes Wasielewski and Seesing maintained some parity, with Belal Ibrahim Massoud scoring the 16-16 equalizer for BHC in the 26th minute.

Maldonado scored consecutive penalties, earning his seventh and eighth goals and restoring BHC's lead at 17-16 and 18-17, respectively (27th and 30th minutes). As the first half came to a close, the score stood at 18-17 in favor of BHC.

Fuchs scored the first goal of the second half, putting Lübeck in the lead at 18-20 by the 32nd minute. BHC maintained the lead but struggled to extend it further. Maldonado's tenth goal brought the score to 22-19 in the 40th minute, but Lübeck clawed their way back to 21-22. The BHC coaches Arnor Gunnarsson and Markus Puetz took a timeout.

Lübeck missed a chance to equalize again, and Maldonado grabbed the opportunity to extend BHC's lead to 24-22 (45th minute). Following a turnover by Noah Beyer, the score was tied at 24-24 in the 48th minute. Maldonado bagged his twelfth goal, tipping the scales in BHC's favor again at 24-25 (49th minute). Goal number thirteen followed in the 53rd minute, with the score standing at 24-26. Both teams continued to make mistakes, maintaining an exciting pace.

Kaj Geenen missed a chance to equalize, but Maldonado continued his impressive performance, scoring the 27-25 goal (55th minute). Wasielewski and Sorin Servis failed to capitalize on opportunities to seal the game (56th/57th minutes). Nadav Cohen leveled the score at 27-27 (57th minute), but Maldonado refused to be slowed down, scoring his fifteenth goal to put BHC ahead once more at 27-28 (58th minute).

Niko Blaauw equalized again, tying the score at 28-28 (59th minute). Maldonado responded swiftly with his sixteenth goal (60th minute), giving BHC the advantage once more. Lübeck took a timeout, and Paul Holzhacker missed, allowing BHC to secure the points.

The BHC's final two games of the season are scheduled for Sunday, June 1st at 5 pm in the Uni-Halle against VfL Eintracht Hagen and on June 7th at Dessau-Roßlauer HV 06 (6 pm).

Maldonado scored his seventh and eighth goals, further expanding BHC's lead in the European football leagues, making it 18-17 and 19-18 respectively. Despite Lübeck-Schwartau snatching the lead in the second half, a determined Maldonado scored his twelfth goal, tipping the scales back in BHC's favor at 24-25.
