Malaysia's Hata Crypto Platform Sees 315% User Boom in 2025
Malaysian cryptocurrency platform Hata saw rapid growth in 2025, attracting over 209,000 users by the end of the year. This surge marked a 315% increase compared to the previous 12 months, with younger investors driving much of the demand. Hata's user base expanded quickly, with millennials and Gen Z making up 83% of its customers. The platform processed RM1.04 billion in transactions throughout the year, while monthly crypto deposits averaged 2.65 million units.
By September 2025, assets under custody had grown to RM115 million. Fiat deposits also remained strong, with monthly volumes hitting RM16.1 million. The most actively traded tokens included XRP, Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana. The company has emphasised its commitment to keeping trading fees low. No specific regulatory changes from the Securities Commission Malaysia in 2025 were linked to Hata's growth in transaction volume or user numbers.
Hata now plans to enhance its platform further and widen its network. The sharp rise in users and trading activity reflects its growing position in Malaysia's digital asset market. The company's focus on affordability and youth engagement continues to shape its strategy.
