Malaysia's ASL initiates a practice focusing on resolving construction disagreements, bringing on a new employee.
ASL Strengthens Construction and Infrastructure Disputes Practice with Merger
Adnan Sundra & Low (ASL), one of Malaysia's leading law firms, has expanded its construction disputes practice following a strategic merger with local boutique firm, Steven Thiru & Sudhar Partnership. The merger, which took place in February, has increased ASL's partner count to 35.
The expansion is in response to the growth of Malaysia's construction sector and ongoing infrastructure development projects. Kevin Prakash, a renowned expert in building contracts, construction disputes, trial and appellate matters, and commercial litigation, has joined ASL as an equity partner. Prakash will lead the newly formed construction and infrastructure disputes practice.
Prakash's extensive experience and team will complement ASL’s existing strengths, positioning the firm as a go-to choice for complex, cross-border matters in the construction and infrastructure sectors. This move is part of ASL’s ongoing strategy to ensure its leadership in a changing legal landscape.
The merger also brings on board Sudharsanan Thillainathan, Dawn Wong, and Tania Edward, who have joined ASL from Steven Thiru & Sudhar Partnership. These new partners bring additional expertise in litigation and arbitration, further enhancing ASL’s dispute resolution capabilities.
The merger is part of ASL’s broader strategy to boost its disputes practice by adding specialists. This move is intended to deliver comprehensive, broad-ranging legal solutions to clients, covering not just construction-related disputes but a wide array of legal issues.
ASL is also expanding into specialized dispute resolution services, demonstrating its continuing commitment to expanding its firm’s services to meet the evolving needs of its clients. This strategic expansion into new areas of practice is expected to further strengthen ASL’s position as a leading law firm in Malaysia.
