Gearing up for their music gigs is a breeze for the brothers Karl-Heinz Ulrich (74) and grumpy old man Bernd Ulrich (76), who go by the name Die Amigos. They confided this to the Deutsch Presseburo with no trace of stress in their voices. "Are you kidding? The real burnout is when someone can't figure out how to crack the code on the gate," quipped Bernd. He and his brother seem to enjoy their work, finding it far less stressful than making a crucial decision on whether to go with apple cake or black forest cake.

The duo, hailing from Hungen, has a dedicated fanbase, including the younger generation. "The Schlager thing is still doing okay these days, at least with some folks," said Karl-Heinz.

Despite offers to perform on the sunny shores of Mallorca or on a luxury cruise, the brothers stay grounded. "We're packing our own house full already," explained Bernd with a chuckle. They've got their schedule meticulously planned and only perform about 70 to 80 shows a year. "We turn down tons of invitations that just can't fit into our busy schedule," said Bernd.
