Majority of Bangkok voters express satisfaction with Chadchart's leadership, pledging to cast their votes for him again, according to a poll.
Bangkokians seem thrilled with Governor Chadchart Sittipunt's three-year stint as head of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, according to a recent poll by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
The survey, conducted between 15 and 21 May, questioned 2,000 Bangkok residents from all 50 districts. All respondents were at least 18 years old.
When asked about their satisfaction with Chadchart's performance, the responses were as follows:
- 46.85% were quite happy
- 27.10% were very happy
- 16.50% were quite unhappy
- 9.55% were not happy at all
As for a potential re-election, the numbers looked promising:
- 48.30% would vote for Chadchart today
- 32.90% weren’t sure
- 18.65% wouldn’t vote for Chadchart
- 0.15% had no comment
The survey also rated Chadchart's performance on 17 key issues in Bangkok, with the following select areas:
Organising Bangkok’s pavements:- 42.45% found it quite good- 33.35% found it very good
Increasing green space:- 42.50% found it quite good- 30.85% found it very good
Improving the appearance of roads and alleys:- 43.65% found it quite good- 26.95% found it very good
Garbage disposal, wastewater treatment, and dust control:- 44.30% found it quite good- 25.70% found it very good
Flood management:- 37.05% found it quite good- 26.40% found it quite not good
Traffic congestion management:- 38.75% found it quite good- 29.95% found it quite not good
These areas suggest that Bangkokians are particularly pleased with Chadchart's efforts to tidy up the city and improve its livability, although flood management and traffic congestion seem to be ongoing concerns. The detailed poll results have yet to be released to provide further insights on the satisfaction levels for each issue.
