Major sports broadcasters ESPN and Fox plan to join forces, bundling their upcoming streaming services in a deal heavily focused on sports content.
ESPN and Fox Announce Joint Streaming Service
Starting October 2, 2025, sports fans can enjoy a combined bundle of ESPN's direct-to-consumer service and FOX One for just $39.99 per month. This new partnership aims to offer an affordable and seamless viewing experience without the need for a cable subscription, consolidating premium sports content in one streaming package.
The bundle includes access to a wide portfolio of live sports and events. Subscribers can look forward to live games and events across major sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, College Football and Basketball, NASCAR, INDYCAR, UFC, and even the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
With this bundle, fans can access all channels carrying FOX Sports events live, including FS1, FS2, FOX Deportes, Big Ten Network, FOX Local Stations, and FOX Network. Additionally, subscribers will have access to all ESPN linear networks live, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN on ABC. On-demand replays and original programming via ESPN+ are also included in the package.
This bundle offers over 47,000 live sporting events annually, enabling fans to watch virtually every game that airs on FOX and ESPN networks, across their new direct-to-consumer apps, providing comprehensive sports coverage that can be streamed anytime and anywhere.
This move is a significant response to the challenges faced by viewers, who have been dealing with steep price hikes and an overload of choice. By offering a discounted rate for sports events, the bundled service aims to boost customer stickiness in the streaming industry.
The new service is expected to provide competition to existing sports streaming platforms and is a response to the abandonment of plans for the joint venture, Venu Sports, due to substantial legal opposition. This new partnership between ESPN and Fox is the first significant deal involving major sports rights holders since the abandonment of Venu Sports.
The service is set to launch on August 21, 2025, and is expected to help Fox expand its audience beyond the mainstay cable television business. With this new service, both platforms aim to offer ultimate sports fans an affordable and seamless viewing experience without the need for a cable subscription.
