Major League Baseball team, the Yankees, activate star player Aaron Judge and reorganize their bullpen in a series of significant roster shifts.

Aaron Judge Returns to the New York Yankees Lineup

After a 10-day absence due to a right elbow flexor strain, Aaron Judge made his return to the New York Yankees on August 5, 2025. The American League MVP, who has been in top form this season with a significant lead in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS, joined the team in Arlington, Texas.

During his time on the injured list, the Yankees struggled with a 4-6 record and a low batting average. However, with Judge's return, the team expects a significant boost to their offensive potential.

To make room for Judge on the active roster, the Yankees placed Austin Slater on the 10-day IL with a left hamstring strain. Slater, who was recently acquired by the team, sustained the injury during his brief stint with the Yankees.

In preparation for his return, Judge participated in on-field batting practice and faced live pitching at the Yankees' minor-league complex in Tampa. He also underwent platelet-rich injection treatment for his elbow injury.

The Yankees also made other roster moves to accommodate Judge's return. Reliever Mark Leiter Jr. was reinstated from the injured list, and righty Yerry De Los Santos was recalled from Triple-A. On the flip side, Jake Bird, recently acquired from the Colorado Rockies, was sent to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and JT Brubaker was designated for assignment.

Manager Aaron Boone expressed excitement about having Judge back and expects him to return to playing right field in the near future once his arm better tolerates throwing. Despite the return of their star player, the team is still struggling, highlighted by a recent losing streak.

In conclusion, Aaron Judge's return to the Yankees provides a significant boost to the lineup's offensive potential. However, the team is carefully managing his gradual return to full defensive duties while continuing rehab of his right elbow flexor strain injury.

Aaron Judge's comeback to the New York Yankees lineup presents an opportunity to bolster the team's offensive capabilities in Major League Baseball. As he recovers from his right elbow flexor strain, the Yankees are keen on managing a careful and gradual reintroduction to defensive duties alongside continuing his rehab.
