Major League Baseball team, the Rangers, award bonus to pitcher Nathan Eovaldi, regardless of him not making the All-Star team, according to reports.

In the heart of the Major League Baseball (MLB) season, the Texas Rangers have made a notable move to acknowledge the exceptional performance of their starting pitcher, Nathan Eovaldi. Despite missing out on the American League All-Star team, the Rangers have rewarded Eovaldi with his $100,000 All-Star bonus, recognising his season's outstanding contributions.

Eovaldi, who turned 35 this year, has been sensational for the Rangers in his third season with the team. In 16 starts, he has posted a 7-3 win-loss record and a remarkable 1.58 ERA over 91 innings pitched. His strikeout-to-walk ratio of 6.71 ranks second in the MLB, with 94 strikeouts against just 14 walks. His WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched) is an excellent 0.85, second-best in the majors if he qualified.

The right-handed pitcher demonstrated durability and dominance in his first start of the season, throwing a complete-game shutout, needing just 99 pitches for that game. Since returning from a triceps injury that sidelined him for a month, he has maintained strong form, with a 1.66 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 17.2 innings over four starts.

The Rangers' decision to give Eovaldi the bonus reflects their appreciation for his high level of play in 2025. The team has the best team ERA (3.28) in baseball this season, and Eovaldi is a huge reason why. He was a key part of the Rangers team that won the World Series over the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023.

As of July 2, 2025, the Rangers are third in the American League West with a 48-49 record. The team's lineup has struggled this season, and if the season ended today, they would miss the playoffs. However, with Eovaldi's continued strong performance, there is hope for a late-season push.

"Nathan Eovaldi's exceptional pitching performance for the Texas Rangers in the Major League Baseball (MLB), including his remarkable 1.58 ERA and second-best WHIP, puts him in strong contention for the MLB's top pitchers in baseball. The Rangers' decision to award him an All-Star bonus, despite missing out on the actual team, underscores his significant contribution to the team's successful season."

"With Eovaldi's continued stellar performances on the mound, the Texas Rangers, currently third in the American League West, have a promising chance for a late-season push towards the playoffs, reminiscent of their World Series victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023."
