Toronto Blue Jays Lead American League as Postseason Approaches

The 2025 Major League Baseball postseason is fast approaching, and the Toronto Blue Jays are making a strong case for dominance in the American League. As of now, the Blue Jays boast the best record in the league with an impressive 69-50.

Their closest competitor, the Detroit Tigers, trail behind with a record of 69-51. However, no other team in the American League has a record better than the Blue Jays.

Meanwhile, in the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers hold the top spot with a record of 74-44, making them the only team in their league with a record above 70 wins, just like the Blue Jays. No team in the National League has a record worse than the Brewers.

The postseason begins with the Wildcard Series, a best-of-three series that starts on Tuesday, September 30, and ends no later than Thursday, October 2. Six teams from both the National and American leagues will advance to this round.

Following the Wildcard Series, the Division Series will commence on Saturday, October 4, and run through Saturday, October 11. This round, also known as the League Division Series (LDS), is a best-of-five series. Potential Game 5s are scheduled for Friday, October 10 (American League Division Series, ALDS) and Saturday, October 11 (National League Division Series, NLDS).

The League Championship Series (LCS) follows, with the American League Championship Series (ALCS) starting on Sunday, October 12, and the National League Championship Series (NLCS) starting the next day, on Monday, October 13. The LCS is a best-of-seven series.

The World Series, the pinnacle of the MLB season, will kick off on Friday, October 24. The series will be best-of-seven, with a potential Game 7 taking place on Saturday, November 1. The World Series will be played at the home of the league champion with the better record.

The postseason will be broadcast across various networks, including ABC, ESPN/ESPN2 for the Wild Card Series; FOX, FS1, FOX Deportes for the ALDS and ALCS; TNT Sports, TBS, truTV, HBO Max for the NLDS and NLCS; and FOX for the World Series.

With less than six weeks remaining in the regular season, the race to the postseason is heating up. The Blue Jays and Brewers are setting the pace, but the battle for playoff spots is far from over. Stay tuned for more updates as the 2025 MLB postseason unfolds.
