Title: Anticipated Influx of Football Fans for Champions League Final in Munich

Tens of thousands of football fans, primarily from Italy and France, are projected to converge on Munich this weekend for the Champions League final. A spokesperson for the city's sports department has mentioned that an Italian majority is expected, given the ease of travel by train from Milan to Munich. The Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) estimates approximately 90,000 overnight stays from out-of-town guests.

Thirteen years ago, Munich experienced collective mourning when FC Bayern Munich lost the "home final" against London's FC Chelsea. This weekend, three large fan zones will be established in the city, accommodating up to 25,000 people at the "Champions Festival" in the Olympiapark, up to 18,000 at the "PSG Fan Meeting Point" on Königsplatz, and up to 16,500 at the "Inter Fanzone" at Odeonsplatz. These areas will open at 11:00 AM. The police plan to deploy approximately 2,000 officers to secure the match and related events, with backup from officers throughout Bavaria.

While no specific threat assessments have been shared, the high abstract threat to this international sporting event is assumed given the overall global political situation, including the Ukraine war and the Middle East conflict. The city expects nearly 50 million euros in additional revenue from the influx of guests, who are expected to spend generously during their stay.

Events are scheduled throughout the week in Munich, including a legends tournament featuring former stars like Franck Ribéry, Lothar Matthäus, and Luis Figo at the SAP Garden in the Olympiapark. According to Munich's Dehoga district manager Daniela Ziegler, interest in attending this year's event is exceptionally high, with price sensitivity extremely low due to the high demand for tickets and their elevated prices.

During the tournament, fans will gather in Munich, Football Fan Zones, and at the Champions League Final in Munich, creating a significant economic impact on the city. France, Italy, Milan, and Paris will also heavily represent the attending fanbase. The appropriate departments of the city and the police will be prepared to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Community aid will be essential to address potential issues arising from the influx of approximately 90,000 football fans, primarily from Italy and France, in the city. Financial aid, such as providing extra funding for security measures and managing additional revenue, will be crucial in ensuring a smooth and secure Champions League final in Munich.

The excitement surrounding the tournament, featuring stars like Franck Ribéry and Lothar Matthäus, is expected to generate significant economic aid for the city through increased spending by the attending fans from France, Italy, Milan, and Paris.
