Major delays hit enno RE50 trains between Wolfsburg and Hildesheim today

Train services on the enno RE50 route between Wolfsburg and Hildesheim are facing major disruptions. Construction work near Woltwiesche has led to cancellations and delays, particularly affecting passengers travelling from Braunschweig Central Station to Hildesheim.

The issues began when ongoing track maintenance near Woltwiesche overran its original 8 a.m. completion time. Engineers now expect the work to continue well into the afternoon, causing further hold-ups.

An ICE train was also evacuated on the same stretch of track, adding to the congestion. Operators have warned that schedules remain uncertain, with no confirmed time for when normal service will resume.

Passengers are being urged to check live digital timetables and listen for platform announcements before travelling. The disruption affects all services on the enno RE50 line, leaving many commuters stranded or forced to find alternative routes.

The delays stem from extended construction and an emergency evacuation on the tracks. No official update has been given on when the line will fully reopen. Travellers are advised to plan extra time for their journeys until further notice.
