Automative Manufacturers Group Opens New Mahindra Dealership in Madurai

The Automotive Manufacturers (AMPL) Group, one of India's largest automobile retail conglomerates, has expanded its presence in Tamil Nadu with the inauguration of a new Mahindra Commercial Vehicle dealership in Madurai. The dealership, located at Pandi Kovil Ring Road, Near Guru Hospital, Mattuthavani, Madurai, is strategically positioned to serve the growing demand from local customers, particularly in the commercial vehicle segments for operators.

Spread over 3,500 sq. ft., the dealership can display up to five Mahindra Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and aims to cater to the needs of the Captive and Market Load Operator segments across the region. The facility is fully air-conditioned to ensure a comfortable experience for customers.

The new dealership is part of AMPL's broader distribution and growth strategy. The group emphasizes expanding physical touchpoints, maintaining a robust presence across six states, focusing on customer-centric approaches and aftersales support, and retailing a substantial volume of vehicles. In FY 2025 alone, the group sold over 37,000 Mahindra vehicles, reflecting strong sales performance linked to their extensive network and service capabilities.

AMPL Group currently operates over 138 Mahindra touchpoints across six Indian states—Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Kerala. In Tamil Nadu, their network includes locations such as the newly inaugurated commercial vehicle dealership in Madurai, which is their largest sales and aftersales partner nationally.

The dealership was inaugurated by Mr. Thalapathi G., Honourable MLA of Madurai North constituency. Mr. Rajiv Sanghvi, Executive Director of Automotive Manufacturers Private Limited, commented on the occasion, expressing his excitement about the strategic location of the dealership and the opportunity to serve customers more conveniently.

The automotive industry in India is expected to see growth in the LCV segment, with CRISIL Ratings predicting a 4-6% growth this fiscal year, driven by ecommerce-led deliveries and expansion of warehouses in Tier 2 & 3 cities. A pickup in freight-intensive sectors such as cement and mining is also expected to boost overall demand for LCVs.

Automative Mahindra operates 28 touchpoints in Tamil Nadu, with 9 3S facilities, 12 showrooms, and 7 servicing workshops. The group has sold over 30,000 Mahindra vehicles in Tamil Nadu, including 14,500 in Madurai over the last 5 years.

The AMPL Group, with 720+ automobile touchpoints and a dedicated team of over 18,000 expert professionals, represents a diverse spectrum of auto segments, including 18 brands in passenger vehicles, light and heavy commercial vehicles, and construction equipment. The group registered an annual group turnover of INR 21,000 crores (unaudited) in FY 2025.

Additionally, the AMPL Group might consider organizing local events at the new dealership to increase customer engagement, such as sports tournaments or weather-related activities. This could help create a stronger connection with the community and attract more customers to the dealership.

Moreover, given the growing demand and positive outlook for the LCV segment in Tier 2 & 3 cities like Madurai, it would be prudent for the dealership to leverage sports events and weather-related discussions to create meaningful conversations with potential customers, especially small business owners.
