Get ready for an extraordinary reveal! SS Rajamouli's upcoming film with Mahesh Babu, tentatively titled SSMB29 or Globetrotter, will be unveiled in November 2025. This event promises a never-before-seen full reveal, designed to showcase the film's vast story, immersive world, and scale.
The film, described as a global-scale jungle adventure, is unlike anything we've seen before. Mahesh Babu plays a rugged explorer, reminiscent of Indiana Jones, with elements of African folklore and expansive action sequences. The first glimpse shared on Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday features symbolic details like a rudraksh mala with a trishul and Nandi pendant, hinting at the character's background and thematic depth.
The film, reportedly made on a lavish budget of around 900–1000 crore INR, is planned for a 2027 release. Filming for the movie is currently underway, with locations such as South Africa scheduled for later in 2025. A significant portion of the film was shot at Odisha.
The film stars Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and others. Interestingly, Rajamouli is working with a different cinematographer for this film, not K K Senthil Kumar, who has worked on several of Rajamouli's blockbusters such as Magadheera, Baahubali -The Beginning, and RRR.
The official title of the film has not been confirmed yet, but the hashtag #GlobeTrotter has been used by Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu, indicating this may be the film's title or at least a thematic identifier.
Mahesh Babu will perform all stunts in the film without a body double, promising an action-packed spectacle.
