Maharashtra Anti-Superstition Council to Conduct Anti-Superstition Workshop in Belapur Following Fraudulent Activities by a Tantrik on a Lawyer
Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) Announces Anti-Superstition Workshop in Navi Mumbai
The Belapur-Nerul branch of the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) has announced a one-day anti-superstition awareness workshop on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Comrade B.T. Randive Library in Agroli, Belapur. This workshop aims to address and combat rising superstition-related frauds in Navi Mumbai, particularly following incidents where people were duped by self-proclaimed tantriks and other fraudulent practices exploiting superstition.
The event will present a scientific perspective on topics including black magic, possession, witchcraft, fraudulent godmen, and supposed miracles. It will also provide information on relevant provisions of the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act to educate the public on legal protections and discourage superstition-based exploitation. Citizens are encouraged to register for the workshop before August 15 to participate in the campaign for a rational, fear-free society.
The announcement follows an incident where an advocate from Mira Road was duped by a self-proclaimed tantrik in Belapur. The acts of creating panic through superstition and black magic are being used to deceive people, as suggested by several recent cases. In another instance, lemons and chilies were allegedly placed in the Belapur Court to create an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among the superstitious.
MANS has urged citizens not to fall prey to such tactics and to report such incidents to the police without hesitation. Such acts, according to MANS, fall under punishable offenses as per the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act. The workshop is part of MANS's campaign against exploitation through fear and is not related to any advertisements.
The workshop is open for registration before August 15 and is intended to build a rational and fear-free society. The incident of the advocate being duped in Belapur serves as a warning against falling victim to superstition and fraudulent practices. The workshop aims to provide the public with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves from such exploitation.
