The Justice D'Cunha Commission appointed by the Karnataka government explicitly declared Chinnaswamy Stadium unsafe for large crowds, recommending relocation to venues better equipped for crowd management.
Initially, the KSCA considered the Alur grounds in Bengaluru's outskirts but ruled it out due to inadequate floodlights and seating facilities. The Mysuru stadium was then chosen as the preferred alternative.
