Magdeburg's Ascension Day Race Event Offers Exciting Lineup

On Thursday, 29 May 2025, racing enthusiasts are invited to attend the Ascension Day Race Day at Magdeburger Herrenkrug, a renowned racecourse in Magdeburg, organized by the Magdeburger Derby Club e.V. (MDCC). The event promises an action-packed day with a blend of flat and harness racing.

A total of 94 horses will participate in the races, with 36 flat horses and 58 harness horses contending in the competitions. This significant increase in the number of starters, compared to last year, underscores the appeal of Magdeburg's flat racing track. Of note, the flat races on this day are exclusive to amateur riders, featuring a FEGENTRI World Championship race for lady riders from various countries.

For racing aficionados, the Ascension Day Race Day presents an attractive betting opportunity. In the fifth race of the day, a Pick 4 bet with a guaranteed payout of €10,000 is available, while the Trifecta bet is not offered in this race. In addition, a V4 bet for four harness races - in races 3, 5, 7, and 9 - allows participants to predict the winners of each race, with a total guaranteed prize of €15,000 for those who correctly guess all the winners.

Young visitors can participate in the "4th Magdeburger Mini-Trotter-Cup," a minor harness racing event for children aged 6-15. The race serves as a platform for young harness racing talents to showcase their skills. Additionally, the FEGENTRI Lady Riders are set to compete in another race on mini sulkies, offering a change of pace from the traditional racing events.

The event's supporting program aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere. The team led by President Heinz Baltus has organized activities such as a live performance by the band "Daphne and the Frudys," a fun area with a bouncy castle, children's carousel, craft station, and face painting, and various food stalls offering grilled dishes, fish rolls, coffee and cake, and now fresh pizza prepared in a wood-fired oven.

Gates open at 11:00 AM, with the first race scheduled for 1:15 PM. Parking has been improved for visitors, with additional areas available for a small fee. Tickets can be purchased online at https://tickets.galopprennbahn-magdeburg.de, offering cheaper prices compared to the box office and shorter wait times.

While specific details about ticket pricing or additional activities beyond the races were not provided, the event offers a day filled with excitement, fun, and enjoyment. For the most accurate and up-to-date information about the event schedule and side events, consult the official Magdeburger Derby Club or Magdeburger Racing Club websites or event listings directly.
