On August 24, 2025, the cycling world will converge on Magdeburg for the final stage of the Lidl Germany Tour. This prestigious event, Germany's biggest professional cycling race, promises an exhilarating finale that will captivate both seasoned cycling enthusiasts and casual spectators alike.

The final stage covers a distance of 167 kilometers from Halle/Saale to Magdeburg, with thousands of spectators expected to line the route. For those keen to experience the thrill of the race up close, several hotspots have been identified as the best places to catch the action.

Sternbrücke in southern Magdeburg is the starting point of the race on that day. Spectators can witness the riders set off on their gruelling journey at this iconic location.

As the riders approach the final 32 kilometers, the Großer Börde Loop, particularly through Wanzleben and along the Magdeburger Ring, offers a breathtaking view of the race.

The Magdeburg Cathedral marks the grand finale of the route and is a must-visit spot for any spectator. The historic cathedral, with its towering spires, will provide a dramatic backdrop to the final sprint.

The Schleinufer, near Magdeburg Cathedral, hosts the finish area and a vibrant supporting program. This location, which hosts two high-speed laps and is known for an exciting sprint finish, is particularly popular for spectators who want to see multiple passes and the final sprint showdown.

For a family-friendly atmosphere, Magdeburg will host a festival in addition to the sporting event.

To ensure a smooth experience for spectators, a guarded bicycle parking area is available from RadMitte south of the Expo grounds. Bicycle or walking is recommended as the best mode of transport.

Please note that extensive road closures and restrictions in public transport are expected on the day of the race, especially in the afternoon. All information about hotspots, travel, and closures can be found at www.cycletour.de/event/news/hotspots-and-travel.

The final sprint will occur on the Schleinufer at the Petriförder, a beach bar with a large screen, offering spectators a unique viewing experience.

Hotspot 3 - City Park and Sternbrücke: The riders will complete two technically challenging laps through the city park, adding an extra layer of excitement to the race.

The Magdeburger Ring, a section of the route, is closed outbound. The finish area at the Schleinufer is closed from August 23, 8 pm, until August 25, 8 am.

In addition to these hotspots, several other locations along the route offer great viewing opportunities.
