Maeva Squiban Wins Stage Six of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift

Maeva Squiban of UAE Team ADQ has claimed victory in the sixth stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, marking her second consecutive stage win in this year's event.

The stage, which was the hardest so far, featured five categorised climbs, and Squiban demonstrated her climbing prowess by taking control on the Col du Chansert. Her attack from the breakaway group gave her a lead of 1:10 with 29km left to race.

Elise Chabbey of FDJ-Suez had led the race until the Col du Chansert, but Squiban's attack proved too much for her, and she lost the lead. The breakaway riders, including Usoa Ostolaza of Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, were caught by the peloton, suppressing Chabbey's solo attack.

Juliette Labous of FDJ-Suez came in second, over a minute behind Squiban, with Kimberley Le Court of AG Insurance-Soudal in third and Demi Vollering of FDJ-Suez in fourth. In the fight for bonus points, Kim Le Court crossed the line just ahead of Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney of Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto.

Squiban maintained her lead at the front of the race with an ever-strengthening lead of 1:20 in the final half of the race. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot remained in third place, 30 seconds behind Le Court, while Millie Couzens and Blanka Vas were separated from the peloton by just 35 seconds.

Le Court maintains the overall lead in the race and will wear the yellow jersey on the next stage. Niamh Fisher-Black of Lidl-Trek had a gearing issue on the descent, but she was able to recover and continue racing.

Maeva Squiban is a rising star in women's cycling, known for her climbing ability, aggressive attacking style, and strong descending skills. Originating from Brest, Brittany, Squiban started cycling at age 13 and quickly showed promise, winning notable junior races and earning a silver medal at the French junior national time trial championships in 2019.

Her debut in the Tour de France Femmes was in 2022 but was marred by injury after a crash, leading to a broken sacrum. She recovered and improved steadily; in 2024, racing for Arkéa-B&B Hotels Women, she nearly reached the podium on a stage and finished 5th in the young rider classification.

In the 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, Squiban has become a sensation by winning two consecutive stages. Her performance has earned her multiple combativity prizes and positioned her as a standout competitor and a breakthrough talent of the event.

Squiban's team, UAE Team ADQ, also had a successful tour overall, with teammate Dominika Wlodarczyk finishing 4th in the general classification.

Squiban's victory in the sixth stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift showcases her dominance in women's cycling, particularly in sports that require climbing and descending skills. UAE Team ADQ's overall success in the tour, with Dominika Wlodarczyk finishing fourth in the general classification, underscores the team's growth and strength in sports.
