Hundreds of Thousands Marvel at Thanksgiving Parade in New York - Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade dazzles NYC in its 99th year of tradition

New York City’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade returned this year for its 99th edition. Organised by Macy’s, the event has been a long-standing tradition since 1924, drawing crowds of spectators along its iconic route. The eventbrite, cancelled only during World War II, remains a highlight of the holiday season for many Americans.

The event kicked off with the traditional Tom Turkey float, setting the festive tone. Dozens of giant balloons, including favourites like Super Mario, Snoopy, and Labubu, soared above the streets. Over 5,000 volunteers worked behind the scenes to bring the spectacle to life, guiding 27 floats, 33 clown groups, and 11 marching bands.

This year’s event once again brought together hundreds of thousands of onlookers. With its mix of balloons, floats, and performances, the main event reinforced its status as a beloved holiday tradition. The 2024 edition will mark the event’s centennial, continuing a legacy that began a century ago.
