French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, faced speculation after a seemingly intimate moment at Hanoi Airport, Vietnam, caught on camera. Thescene showed Brigitte casually wiping Emmanuel's face, which was later clarified as a lighthearted joke between the couple.

Despite the initial confusion, the Macrons put any controversy to rest the following day when they visited the University of Science and Technology in Hanoi. The couple walked together, with Brigitte linking arms with her husband, smiling and dismissing rumors of discord.

During his address to students, Macron addressed current geopolitical challenges and opportunities, cautioning against the rise of misinformation on social media and the danger of criticizing others based on misunderstood thoughts.

Prior to the university visit, the Macrons paid tribute at a Vietnamese war memorial in the capital, commemorating the struggle against French colonial occupation. The French presidential couple's visit to Vietnam is part of a six-day tour that also includes Indonesia and Singapore.

It was later revealed that the footage of Brigitte's gesture was taken out of context and falsely perpetuated by pro-Russian accounts. The Élysée Palace emphasized that the moment was a normal marital gesture, dismissing the claims that it was suggestive of a crisis within the couple.

Despite the initial confusion, the Macrons' visit to Vietnam centered on strengthening diplomatic ties and addressing key issues between France and Vietnam.

The Commission, recognizing the need for improved information, has also made proposals relating to the lifestyle, relationships, entertainment, and celebrity news provided by Member States, which include matters like misinformation on social media and the potential danger of misunderstanding others.

With their focus on diplomatic ties and mutual understanding, the Macrons' visit to Vietnam was not merely a personal affair but an opportunity to address important issues and foster better relationships.
