Macaulay Culkin's four-year-old son expresses interest in marrying someone as attractive as Brenda Song's "Suite Life" character, blissfully unaware that the person he speaks of is his own mother.
In a contrast to his past, Macaulay Culkin, the beloved actor known for his role in the classic film "Home Alone," is now focusing on a different kind of fame - fatherhood. Culkin and his partner, Brenda Song, have two children: Carson and Dakota.
Despite being famous for her role as London Tipton in the hit Disney series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," Song's children are not aware of her television persona. Carson, who is 2 years old, and Dakota, 4, recognise Song from the show when she isn't around, but they are unaware that their mother is the same character they see on screen.
Culkin, too, has managed to keep his fame separate from his family life. He admitted on the show "Hot Ones" that his children have no idea he and Song are famous. Instead, he enjoys the experience of being known as "dad-famous" at his children's school.
The couple's approach to parenting is rooted in a desire to give their children a normal upbringing, free from the pitfalls of celebrity child stardom. They aim to avoid raising "nepo babies," or children who benefit from family celebrity connections to advance easily in entertainment.
This decision stems from Culkin's own experiences with fame. His family relationships were strained by fame and financial secrecy, especially with his father, who managed his and his siblings’ careers. This led to family discord and estrangement during their teenage years.
Despite these challenges, Culkin and his mother, Patricia Brentrup, remain in contact. However, Brentrup has faced health challenges in recent years.
Culkin's current focus is on appreciating the innocence of his children and maintaining the illusion of being known only as their father. He finds the most fulfilling fame in his role as a parent.
