Luxury cinema earnings climb, leading to an increase in stock ownership by Everyman

Everyman, a renowned upmarket cinema group in the UK, is expanding its footprint with plans to open a new venue in Bayswater this August, followed by two additional locations in 2026[1][2]. The Bayswater venue will be the only new opening for Everyman in 2025[1].

In the first half of 2025, Everyman reported impressive revenue growth of 21%, reaching £56.5m[3]. This growth was driven by a 15% increase in admissions, resulting in 2.2m cinema visits[4]. As a result, Everyman's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose 33% to £8.2m[4].

The success of Everyman can be attributed to its unique brand of high-quality, experience-led cinema[5]. CEO Alex Scrimgeour credits the company's success to this approach, which has helped Everyman stand out in a challenging economic environment[5]. Everyman's market share has also increased, reaching 5.8 per cent, a rise of 3.6 per cent year on year[6].

Everyman's focus on high-quality venues and hospitality has helped it redefine cinema[7]. The company's expansion in the UK reflects this commitment, as it seeks to bring its unique cinematic experience to more locations.

Analysts at Canaccord Genuity believe Everyman is well-positioned for future success[8]. Everyman expects to continue its momentum in the second half of 2025, with the aim of repaying its net debt from operational cash flow in the second half of 2025[9].

As of now, Everyman operates 48 venues across the UK[10]. With its continued growth and expansion, the company is set to bring its high-quality cinema experience to even more audiences in the coming years.

Everyman's commitment to expand its UK presence in 2026 will not be limited to cinema venues, as the company is reportedly considering venturing into sports-themed bars to cater to a wider audience. In this venture, Everyman aims to offer an immersive viewing experience, rivaling high-end sports bars in the market.
