Lufthansa prolongs flight suspension to Tel Aviv until 22nd June.

Hop on Socials • Share • Whatsapp • Mail • Print • Link Copy Link After weeks of disrupted travel schedules and safety incidents, Lufthansa Group has announced additional postponement of flights to and from Tel Aviv International Airport. The airline conglomerate will stay grounded until June 22, owing to prolonged security concerns arising from the aggressive actions of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

The initial flight suspension began in early May after a missile from Yemen narrowly missed the airport.

The entire fleet of Lufthansa Group will be affected by the flight halt, encompassing carriers such as Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings. ITA Airways, unfortunately, is parting ways, though not entirely; its suspensions are scheduled to end on June 15, allowing for a slightly earlier resumption of services [2].

Other airlines who have decided to tread cautiously include Iberia Express (flights suspended through June 30) [2], Air India (postponed until June 18), and EasyJet (flight resumptions pushed back to the end of June) [2].

Passengers booked on the affected flights can either cancel their reservations or rebook them free of charge, as per the airline's decision [1].

In light of the ongoing instability caused by the aggressive Israeli army actions in the Gaza Strip, multiple global airlines have adopted robust precautionary measures. This includes Lufthansa Group, who have announced the prolonged postponement of flights to and from Tel Aviv International Airport, aligning with community and employment policies. Other airlines, such as Iberia Express, Air India, and EasyJet, have also taken similar steps to ensure the safety of their passengers, amending their employment policies in response to war-and-conflicts and general news from the region.
