Lucky Iris, the Leeds-based electropop duo from the UK, has recently released a new single titled "i just want to dance". This latest release marks a more dance-forward chapter in their sound, emphasizing club-ready synths and pulsating beats.

The single was mixed by Richard Wilkinson, who has previously worked with notable artists such as Adele and Kaiser Chiefs. Wilkinson's expertise is evident in the polished production of "i just want to dance".

The vocalist of Lucky Iris, Maeve Florsheim, comments on the more clubby elements of the single, stating that she was always drawn to dancing and that this single represents her first taste of freedom.

Lucky Iris, consisting of Maeve Florsheim (vocals and lyrics) and Jasper Exley (music and production), debuted in 2020 with their EP "Turns Out We Should Have Stayed At Home". Since then, they have steadily expanded their discography and gained recognition in the UK electropop scene.

Their latest release is not the first for 2025. Earlier this year, they released the EP "day to night", which is part of their evolving electropop catalog.

Lucky Iris has also released several EPs, including "maybe i’m too much" (2023), "something to believe in" (2024), and "day to night" (2025). They have not yet released a full album.

In addition to these releases, Lucky Iris also released a rework of "10,000 Hours" in 2024. The single "i guess i like you (a lot)" was also released by Lucky Iris in the same year.

Their latest single "i just want to dance" was released via Launchpad+ in partnership with EMI North. It is the first track from their upcoming mixtape and follows the duo's earlier 2025 EP "day to night".

Lucky Iris's EP "maybe i’m too much", released in 2023, was a turning point in their career, showcasing the duo's potential and setting the stage for their more dance-oriented releases.

With their latest single "i just want to dance", Lucky Iris continues to push the boundaries of electropop and deliver catchy, danceable tunes to their growing fanbase.

The polished production of "i just want to dance" by Lucky Iris, showcasing club-ready synths and pulsating beats, is a testament to the expertise of mixer Richard Wilkinson, who has previously worked with artists like Adele and Kaiser Chiefs in the realm of pop-culture and music. As Maeve Florsheim, the vocalist of Lucky Iris, expresses her love for dancing and the single's representation of freedom, this electropop track can be seen as an entertaining addition to their expanding discography, contributing to the current pop-culture landscape.
