Lucas Reich's Transfer to 2nd Bundesliga Results in Large Payments for TSV 1860
Turnover:
The exit of Lukas Reich, a rising talent from TSV 1860, is now confirmed. He's off to SpVgg Greuther Fürth for a cool €500,000.
In the buzzing city of Munich, change is the only constant. As part of this whirlwind, right-back Lukas Reich (18) has inked a deal to swap his Lions jersey for the badge of SpVgg Greuther Fürth. This move comes with a steep price tag for TSV 1860, as the struggling third-tier club desperately needs the cash for their upcoming promotion campaign.
The club itself has made the announcement, stating that both teams have agreed to terms for the transfer. The Lions have managed to secure a tidy sum for their loss of Reich, much needed in their current financial predicament.
"I've gained valuable experience and grown both as a footballer and a person at TSV 1860 Munich since 2016," Lukas Reich is quoted in the announcement. "I'm pumped for the new adventure, but I'll always keep TSV 1860 Munich close to my heart. Thanks to everyone who's supported me and shown faith in me."
Bye-bye, Schulze; Hirschnagl's Departure Leaves a Gaping Hole
The hunt for a goalkeeper continues, with Philipp Schulze (22) no longer in the running. The former VfL Wolfsburg loanee to SC Verl is no longer an option following an extensive evaluation. In addition, TSV 1860 Munich aims to reinforce the wings and central midfield, and lock in the next generation of NLZ talents for the long haul. The exit of the modest Reich won't sit well with the fans, but it's an economically prudent decision.
The departure of Felix Hirschnagl, a coaching star at TSV 1860, will also leave a significant void. The 40-year-old, who led the U21 team to the Bayernliga title last season, is bolting for Borussia Dortmund's U19 outfit. Ask Alexander Benede, the seasoned defender, about Hirschnagl's brilliance, and he'll gush about his "unmatched footballing IQ." The new U21 coach is yet to be named.
Bonus Bits
Check out this fascinating tidbit—Lukas Reich was born and raised in the tiny village of Reithofen[6][7]. He made his professional debut for TSV 1860 Munich at just 17, and played 35 matches in the 3rd league, scoring one goal[3][4].
Before joining forces with TSV 1860 Munich, Hirschnagl coached several junior teams at Alemannia Aachen[1].
