Daktronics Transforms Sports Stadiums Across the Globe
In 2024 and early 2025, Daktronics, a leading manufacturer of electronic scoreboards, video displays, and control systems, expanded its footprint in the sports industry with numerous installations in stadiums across the United States and internationally.
One of the notable installations was at Duke Softball Stadium, where a state-of-the-art LED videoboard was added to enhance the fan experience. The year also saw Daktronics announce a major project for Truist Field, featuring 10 new LED displays, including a marquee (13 ft by 36 ft) and multiple plaza displays with a 6-millimeter pixel spacing, along with an advanced Show Control system called Camino.
The company's work extended beyond the United States, with a significant LED upgrade at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, including a massive Halo display, and partnerships for LED systems at venues such as the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.
In the realm of college football, the LSU Tigers are set to bring a new game-day experience to Tiger Stadium for the 2024 season. The stadium will feature 16 LED displays totalling 19 million pixels and nearly 21,000 square feet. The main end zone video display will measure over 5,600 square feet with 5.1 million pixels. Additionally, two corner boards will be installed, each measuring 48x67 feet, and an auxiliary video display measuring 10x49 feet, all with a 10mm pixel spacing.
The Baylor Football games at McLane Stadium will also benefit from seven new LED displays. The main video display will measure 47x107 feet and have a 10mm line spacing for improved image quality. The backside display will measure 38x80 feet. At field level, two displays will measure 5x30 feet. A total of 11 LED ribbon displays totaling more than 2,350 linear feet will be mounted to the seating fascia. Locker room clocks and delay of game clocks will also be installed to provide everything needed for a seamless game day production.
The new video board at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, AL, replaces the previously existing Daktronics display at the same dimensions and features a 15HD pixel layout and environmental protection for outdoor operation. Two ribbon displays and two field-level displays will also be upgraded, all featuring 10mm pixel spacings.
This widespread and advanced presence of Daktronics in sports stadiums demonstrates the company's commitment to enhancing the fan experience and providing cutting-edge technology to diverse sporting venues worldwide.
At Tiger Stadium, the LSU Tigers will showcase a new football experience with 16 LED displays, featuring events like games and half-time shows. Daktronics, in collaboration with Baylor Football, is also upgrading McLane Stadium with seven new LED displays, offering enhanced features such as improved image quality for sports events like football games.
