Love Island All Stars duo face backlash over mid-flight antics

Love Island All Stars contestants Lucinda Strafford and Sean Stone have faced sharp criticism after their disruptive behaviour on a flight from South Africa to the UK. Fans and fellow passengers called out the pair for actions, including posing for selfies while Lucinda sat on Sean's lap.

The backlash comes as the couple, who met on the reality show, prepare to move in together after just weeks of dating.

The incident took place during their return flight to the UK in early 2026. Lucinda, a former air hostess, and Sean were photographed sitting together in economy class, with her perched on his lap. Other passengers, including a woman seated beside them, appeared visibly uncomfortable in images shared online.

Fans quickly took to Reddit and social media to express their frustration. Many criticised the couple's perceived entitlement, with calls for airlines to ban them from future flights. The reaction was notably harsher than in past reality TV controversies, such as the 2018 Love Island villa fights or the 2022 Married at First Sight UK drama, where public responses leaned more toward entertainment than accountability.

Despite the criticism, the couple finished in fourth place on Love Island All Stars. Sean later fuelled speculation about their relationship on the show's Aftersun podcast, joking about marriage: 'The way I move, it will be soon!' Meanwhile, former contestant Luca Bish suggested the All Stars format might have lost its appeal, hinting at growing public fatigue with the series.

The controversy has not derailed Lucinda and Sean's plans. They are set to move in together after a short time dating. The public's strong reaction, however, highlights shifting attitudes toward reality TV stars' behaviour outside scripted settings.
