Love is all that remains for Joca

In the vibrant music scene of Dresden, a city known for its classical institutions and contemporary festivals, a new talent is making waves. Joca, a Dresden-based artist, is set to release his new single "Nothing but Love" featuring Wannanelly on July 18.

Joca's music is rooted in the Boom Bap genre, with an honest and political edge. His upcoming single, produced by Franzman, showcases live-recorded instruments and carries important political statements alongside good vibes. The music video for "Nothing but Love" will premiere on June 18 at midnight on Joca's YouTube channel. The single is a 90 bpm boom-bap track that reflects on Joca's past struggles and personal growth.

Joca's journey in music began after an accident ended his streetboarding career at the age of 14. He started freestyling and soon found his passion in creating music. His first self-made CD was released in 2007, and his first official album followed in 2021.

Joca was interviewed by Johannes Haupt for his SounDDcheck project, a platform that captures musicians, bands, and artists at concerts in Neustadt clubs and elsewhere. Johannes Haupt, a Dresden photographer, has two Instagram channels—one for his entire portfolio (www.instagram.com/haupt_motiv) and another for interviews (www.instagram.com/sounddcheck).

Looking ahead, Joca dreams of going on tour with a live band. His album with real instruments will be released on September 5, 2025, and can be pre-ordered on his website www.jocarap.de.

Dresden's music and cultural scene is a blend of history and modernity, offering platforms for independent and emerging artists. While opportunities for collaboration and exposure exist, independent musicians face challenges in visibility, funding, and audience development. Despite these hurdles, the city continues to nurture and celebrate its diverse and thriving artistic community.

Joca's new single "Nothing but Love," featuring Wannanelly, promises to carry important political statements alongside good vibes, aligning it with his Honest and political Boom Bap genre, setting the stage for discussions about his musical contributions within the broader context of Dresden's lifestyle and entertainment scene. Pre-released tracks and upcoming interviews on Johannes Haupt's SoundDDcheck project and Instagram channels aim to provide greater insight into Joca's journey and reveal the connections between his past struggles, personal growth, and upcoming album release, contributing to the overall richness of Dresden's vibrant music culture and its future prospects.
