Lou Diamond Phillips to Direct and Star in 'The Ambulance Chaser' Legal Thriller
A new legal thriller, 'The Ambulance Chaser', is in the works. Based on Brian Cuban's novel, the film has Lou Diamond Phillips attached as director and star. Cinematographer Alan Caudillo and production designer Wynn Thomas, who will receive an honorary Oscar this year, are also on board. Finance is currently being finalised, with no start date set yet.
The story centres around Atlanta attorney Jason Fredricks, whose life takes a dramatic turn due to a decades-old murder. Phillips describes the film as a blend of John Grisham and Stephen King, with ample opportunities for creative visuals. The film is envisioned as the first in a trilogy, set in Atlanta and produced by Autumn Bailey-Ford. Jaina Lee Ortiz joins Phillips as a producer. Cuban, whose novel the film is based on, is excited to see his work adapted for the screen.
With a talented team including Lou Diamond Phillips, Alan Caudillo, and Wynn Thomas, 'The Ambulance Chaser' promises to be a gripping legal thriller. Once financing is secured, production can begin on this anticipated first installment of a planned trilogy.
