Oscar 'N', Known as 'El Pachuco', Arrested in Monterrey for Alleged Crimes with Los Zetas
Oscar 'N', a former member of the criminal organization Los Zetas, was taken into custody on Wednesday by the Mexican Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC) in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León.
The alleged crimes that Oscar 'N' is implicated in include the homicides of six individuals, including three police officers, as well as instances of armed robbery and property damage. The crimes were committed across various Mexican states, including Sonora, where the kidnapping and killing of the police officers took place in 2009.
In accordance with the General Prosecutor's Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES), the officers were murdered by an armed group that attacked a police operational base and a local hotel. The incident resulted in the death of five additional individuals, among them Ramón 'N', the chief of the PEI group, and Javier Alfonso 'N', the former secretary of agreements for the Prosecutor General of Justice of the State.
Authorities have made multiple arrests related to the case, including Francisco 'El 2000', the leader of the captured cell who was extradited to the United States in 2016. Other arrested individuals include Alejandro 'El Minero', Héctor 'El Negro' or 'El Gordo', Adán Arnulfo 'El Shaggy', Enrique and/or Ricardo 'El Joquer', José Juan and/or Roberto 'El Rambo', and others.
In a separate development, the Treviño Morales brothers, identified as the 'Z-40' and 'Z-42' leaders of Los Zetas, were handed over to U.S. authorities earlier this year, along with 27 other Mexican narcos. The brothers were arrested by Mexican authorities in 2013 and 2015, respectively, and have now been deported to face trial in the United States.
Notably, among the deported drug lords, Rafael Caro Quintero stands out, accused of the murder of DEA agent Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena in 1985.
