Los Angeles Sports Arena Upgrades with New Scoring System for Lakers, Kings, and Sparks Teams
The Crypto.com Arena has received a significant upgrade with the installation of a new center-hung scoreboard by Daktronics. The scoreboard, a six-display, 5,500-square-foot configuration, is designed to enhance fan engagement and provide a vivid, immersive game viewing experience.
At the heart of the new system is a main video display, measuring approximately 27x170.5 feet in circumference and featuring a 3.9mm pixel spacing. This continuous canvas wrapping around the center-hung structure offers multiple high-resolution LED display faces for clear video, statistics, replays, and graphics. With 41.7 million pixels, the main display can show multiple zones of digital content as needed for each event.
Four underbelly displays, each nearly 14x16.5 feet, are fitted along each side of the bottom display, which measures 18x18 feet. These displays cater to patrons sitting closer to the floor and can show supplemental content to the main display. All underbelly displays feature a 2.5mm pixel spacing.
To ensure a seamless fan experience, the scoreboard is equipped with 4K video capabilities, surround sound, and synchronized lighting integration. The system also boasts a flexible content management system for dynamic display customization and real-time game data integration for live stats and scoring updates.
Daktronics has also installed a custom control system at the Crypto.com Arena, featuring Show Control with Camino and Venus Control Suite. The addition of Camino to the control system will provide a new level of functionality for dynamic, real-time rendered content.
The new center-hung scoreboard will be used for concerts, live events, and sports games at the Crypto.com Arena. For detailed specifications and further information, direct inquiries to Daktronics or Crypto.com Arena. The scoreboard installation began on Aug. 1 and concluded Aug. 14.
