In the picturesque town of Lenzerheide, Switzerland, the Secret Garden 2025 music festival was abuzz with excitement on August 4, 2025. The festival, which showcased a mix of well-known Swiss acts such as Troubas Kater, Gigi, and RoxXxet, as well as exciting newcomers, witnessed a remarkable event.

The Swiss tenor group, I Quattro, set a new world record for the "longest continuous singing of the high C note in a tenor quartet relay." The high note was held for an astounding 16 minutes and 2 seconds, a feat that left the audience and the performers themselves in awe.

The Record Institute for Germany (RID), the German-speaking counterpart to the internationally oriented record book from London, was on hand to certify the record. Olaf Kuchenbecker, an RID record judge and bassist, travelled from Hamburg, Germany, to verify the record-breaking performance. The official RID record certificate was presented to the tenors immediately after their performance, which was part of I Quattro's concert on Monday evening.

The RID, which collects and verifies peak performances from the German-speaking area and certifies world records, was thrilled with the record-breaking event. In a statement, the organisation expressed their anticipation for potential imitators and wished music-loving record fans much fun with records like this.

For those interested in the most current world records, the RID's world records are presented on their official website, rekord-institut.org, and are also published in the RID's own world record book. The latest edition, THE RID BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS - EDITION 4, is now available for order in bookstores or directly from the RID web shop.

For media inquiries, Alexander Matzkewitz, the media contact for the RID Record Institute for Germany GmbH, can be reached at [email protected]. Record attempts can be requested for on-site testing and certification by the RID.

As the world continues to celebrate the achievements of I Quattro, the RID stands ready to certify more extraordinary records in the future.
