In their own matches...
As a tribute to their 2017 championship teammates, Max Schwenger stepped onto the court, playing his final game at a score of 2:0 alongside Mark Byerly. The random doubles of Brian Holtschke and Marcello Kausemann and Florentine Schöffski and Julia Meyer had already won their matches. Schwenger and Byerly carried on the winning streak with a 3:1 victory. In the singles, Schöffski, Holtschke, and Elias Beckmann shone brightly, with only Holtschke losing his match.
Climbing up the rankings...
TV Refrath maintains their lead over 1. BC Bischmisheim in the table but find themselves as outsiders in the fight for 4th place. In two weeks, the team will face the defending champions in Dortelweil and Bischmisheim. Heinz Kelzenberg: "We expect a quarter-final away in April".
Two thumbs up for Refrath 2!
The 2nd team of TV Refrath bid adieu to their audience with a double header of 5:2 victories over the weekend. They left no opening against both 1.CfB Cologne and 1.BC Wipperfeld's reserves. In a close call, only Corvin Schmitz lost both days against Cologne in the double and singles. The Luxembourgian Kevin Hargiono, meanwhile, made a winning debut.
On day two, the tough fights came with Flora Wang and Elias Beckmann forced to play five sets against the weakened opposition. The ever-reliable Bennet Peters, Nikolaj Stupplich, Marcello Kausemann, Fritz Binus, and Eva Janssens contributed to the victorious efforts.
TV Refrath 2 strengthens their 4th position in the 2nd Bundesliga North, with a commanding four-point lead. Looking ahead to their last two matches on 22/23.3 in Gladbeck and Mulheim, they aim to keep their position intact.
