The District Council of Offenbach recognizes Karl-Heinz Stier from Mühlheim for half a century of dedication. At a recent meeting, Council Chairman Volker Horn handed out the award, capturing the admiration of attendees with a standing ovation.
A Lifetime of Service
Karl-Heinz Stier was elected as part of the SPD list in October 1971, and he's been a constant presence in the council ever since, with the exception of a brief hiatus in spring 2021. During his tenure, he served as the deputy chairman of the SPD faction for eight years and represented the deputy chairman of the council from 1989 to his departure, only to rejoin the council in November 2024.
Part of a Select Club
With this award, Karl-Heinz Stier is part of an exclusive group, as few have served as long in the Offenbach District Council as he. In fact, former council chairman Paul Scherer of Rodgau is the only other member to have matched such a extensive record of service.
By bestowing this honor on Karl-Heinz Stier, the council commemorates half a century of valuable civic work, an extraordinary commitment to democracy.
