London kicks off as the prime location to host the coming Women's Cricket T20 World Cup, as announced recently.

Although famed as the mecca of cricket, Lord's will be the showstopper venue for the tournament finale in 2026, trouncing rival major UK Test arenas like Manchester's Old Trafford, Headingley in Leeds, Birmingham's Edgbaston, the Hampshire Bowl, the Bristol County Ground, and London's Oval, which will also stage matches.

London's sports calendar, already brimming with top-tier international events, gets a boost with the upcoming Women's Cricket T20 World Cup, making it a hotspot for sports enthusiasts next year. Besides this, London will also welcome Table Tennis' World Team Championship in 2026.

He further added, "The UK's thriving diversity has consistently demonstrated fervent support for every team, a fact clearly evident during earlier events. The sold-out Women's Cricket World Cup final at Lord's in 2017 stands as a noteworthy testament to the rising popularity of women's cricket. Hosting the finale here feels like an absolute dream."

England, along with the other home nations and Ireland, are all set to host the men's T20 World Cup in 2030.

England's impressive record of winning the last two World Cups they hosted, the Women's Cricket World Cup in 2017 and the Men's Cricket World Cup in 2019, certainly speaks volumes about their home advantage!
