In a spectacular display of power-hitting, Grace Harris scored an unbeaten 89 runs off just 42 deliveries for London Spirit, setting a new record for the most sixes hit in a single innings within The Hundred's history.

Harris, who completed her half-century in a blisteringly fast 28 balls, targeted both Amanda-Jade Wellington and Tash Farrant, hitting the ball over the boundary with ease. She finished the match with a stunning 6 sixes, surpassing the previous record of 10 sixes set by Jordan Cox in August 2025.

Cordelia Griffith also contributed a solid 50 off 29 balls for London Spirit, helping the team build a total of 176-5 at the Lord's Cricket Ground—the highest total ever scored by London Spirit in The Hundred.

In response, Oval Invincibles, despite a strong partnership between Meg Lanning and Marizanne Kapp, ended their innings at 159-4. Lanning scored a impressive 85 runs off 51 balls, while Kapp provided valuable support with her contributions.

Dane van Niekerk and Kapp were the top bowlers for Oval Invincibles, taking 2 wickets each. However, it was not enough to prevent London Spirit from securing a 17-run victory in the inaugural match of The Hundred women's series.

With this thrilling win, London Spirit have set the bar high for the upcoming matches. Fans can look forward to more exhilarating cricket, as the action from the upcoming match between Manchester Originals and Southern Brave at Old Trafford is set to be followed live.

Let's hope for more record-breaking performances and exciting matches in the future of The Hundred women's series!
