London Celebrates Burns Night with Contemporary Scottish Menus

London is celebrating Burns Night, an annual event honouring Scotland's national poet Robert Burns, with a variety of unique experiences. While the city is famous for its diverse food scene, traditional Scottish cuisine often takes a backseat.

This year, several establishments are showcasing contemporary Scottish menus. The Restaurant Carousel, during its Residence Weeks, presents a modern take on Scottish dishes, though the chef's name remains unknown. Meanwhile, The Cow in Notting Hill offers an à la carte Burns Night menu, complete with bagpipe melodies and traditional Scottish desserts like Dundee marmalade pudding.

For a more traditional Burns Night supper, The Connaught Grill in Mayfair collaborates with Aberfeldy distillery. From 21 to 26 January, guests can enjoy a tasting menu (£140pp), with an additional whisky flight on Burns Night itself (£275pp). Mount St Restaurant at The Audley pub offers a Scottish-themed Burns Night supper in its private dining room for £125 per person. Langan's Brasserie in Mayfair also presents a tasting menu for £95 per person.

Not to be missed is Auld Hag, a Scottish deli in Angel, which hosts a lively Burns Night celebration. Expect re-enactments, live music, and whisky and gin cocktails.

From contemporary Scottish menus to traditional Burns Night suppers, London's food scene is embracing its Scottish roots. Whether you're a fan of modern twists or classic dishes, there's something for everyone this Burns Night.
