Lokomotiv-Kuban has formally announced the transfer of basketball player Vince Hunter.

Lokomotiv-Kuban has bolstered its roster with the signing of American center Vince Hunter, who is set to bring his championship experience and leadership qualities to the Russian club.

Hunter, a 31-year-old veteran, has inked a "1+1" contract with Lokomotiv-Kuban, following a successful season with Zenit where he helped the team secure the silver medal in the VTB United League.

Before his stint with Zenit, Hunter had a remarkable professional basketball career, marked by impressive individual statistics and multiple awards, particularly during his tenure with AEK Athens in the Basketball Champions League.

During the 2018–19 season with AEK Athens, Hunter was a standout player, earning several individual awards. He was crowned the Top Scorer of the Basketball Champions League, led the competition in efficiency per game, and finished as the 2-pointer scoring leader for the season. Hunter was also named the Basketball Champions League Game Day MVP three times (Game Days 4, 12, and 13) and was included in the Basketball Champions League First Team, recognising him among the best players in the competition.

Following his impressive performances at AEK Athens, Hunter moved to Russia, playing for Kazan's UNICS and St. Petersburg's Zenit last season. Despite modest but consistent statistics (8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game), Hunter's impact at a high international club level is evident.

Andrei Vedischev, Lokomotiv-Kuban's president, expressed his excitement about the signing, stating that Hunter brings championship experience and leadership qualities to the team. This move suggests serious ambitions for Lokomotiv-Kuban in the new season.

Before joining Lokomotiv-Kuban, Hunter had a diverse career, playing for Panathinaikos, the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA), Saratov's Avtodor, Greek AEK, and Bologna's Virtus. He began his career with the University of Texas at El Paso.

As Lokomotiv-Kuban prepares for the upcoming championship, the addition of Vince Hunter, a proven defensive star and efficient scorer, promises to strengthen the team's chances of securing a championship title.

Meanwhile, Zenit has announced the transfer of former NBA player Andre Roberson, marking another significant move in the Russian basketball scene.

Vince Hunter, having played for Zenit in previous seasons, now moves on to Lokomotiv-Kuban in a "1+1" contract, bringing his championship experience and leadership qualities from the NBA and other sports leagues such as the VTB United League and the Basketball Champions League, where he excelled in basketball games like the NBA, particularly during his time with AEK Athens, where he clinched Top Scorer and other awards in the Basketball Champions League.

In light of the signing of Hunter, bookmakers might see significant changes in the odds for the NBA or other sports games where Lokomotiv-Kuban is a participant, as the addition of Hunter could bolster their chances of securing a championship title.
