Title: Lok Leipzig's President Kracht Battles Back After Heart Attack

Former professional footballer and current Lok Leipzig president, Torsten Kracht, recounted his recent brush with a heart attack in a candid conversation with Bild. Kracht, aged 56, underwent surgery following the event and credits timely intervention for his swift recovery.

Describing the incident, Kracht shared, "It was an hour-long operation, and after that, you start to feel better rather quickly. Luckily, everyone reacted fast, and it didn't take too long. Not much heart tissue was lost, and my brain didn't suffer oxygen deprivation."

Kracht’s ordeal began when he experienced chest pains and called for an ambulance himself. "They asked me to rate my symptoms on a scale of 1 to 10, I said 6 or 7. Suddenly there was a loud beep, and I was gone," Kracht recalled. He was later resuscitated.

Recovering well, Kracht is now prescribed tablets and looks forward to getting back to regular sports activities. Despite his close brush with death, Kracht is determined to maintain his position as the president of Lok Leipzig, the fourth division football club. "There's no need for worry. I'm doing fine," he assured.

Kracht's involvement with Lok Leipzig spans over a decade. Before becoming the club's president in May, he served as its sports director and vice-president, having represented the team in 283 competitive matches. Kracht's professional football career peaked in 1987 when he played in the European Cup final against Ajax Amsterdam and made two appearances for East Germany's national team.

After a brief stint with relegated VfB Leipzig in 1993, Kracht continued playing at Bochum, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart before wrapping up his active career in 2004.
