Vieregge, in her turn, emphasised the importance of a close network of decision-makers at the federal and local levels to make municipal areas functional again. She highlighted that the 'Future Pact' anchored in the coalition agreement is seen as the right approach.
The CDU is advocating for reform in funding programs for municipalities, with additional financial resources not seen as a sole solution to the municipal areas' problems. Instead, the focus remains on sustainable solutions that ensure the long-term viability of these communities.
