The League of Women Voters of South King County (LWVSKC) has announced two public candidate forums at the Burien Library this fall. The forums, which are co-sponsored by the Highline Special Needs PTA and the American Association of University Women (AAUW), aim to encourage informed and active participation in government.

On Tuesday, September 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the first forum will take place in the library's second-floor meeting room. This forum will feature candidates for the Highline Public Schools Board of Directors. Spanish interpretation will be provided during the event.

The Burien City Council candidate forum, originally scheduled for October 3, has been moved to Tuesday, October 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the City of Burien. Spanish interpretation will also be provided during this forum.

The second forum, highlighting Burien City Council candidates, will take place on Tuesday, October 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Both forums will be moderated and time-kept by LWVSKC volunteers.

The Burien Library will host these two additional forums in October, in addition to the previously announced forums. The Highline School Board candidate forum, originally scheduled for September 30, has been moved to Tuesday, October 3, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at the KCLS Burien library, 2nd floor.

The League of Women Voters of South King County is a nonprofit, nonpartisan political organization that works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influence public policy through education and advocacy. More information about the LWVSKC can be found on their website.

These forums provide an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about the candidates and their positions on important issues. We encourage everyone to attend and participate in these public events.
