On September 14, 2025, the city of Dormagen will host its municipal elections, and the public is invited to join the event at the Kulle or follow the live updates online.

The city administration's website, www.ourwebsite, will allow citizens to track the election results in real-time. For those attending the event, the latest results will be displayed live on a large screen.

The election will determine the composition of the new city council and the new mayor. As of the latest polls, the SPD remains the strongest party with 33.5% of the vote and 16 seats in the city council, followed by the CDU with 30.1%. Other parties include AfD (13.8%), Greens (9.8%), FDP (4.2%), Zentrum (3.8%), Die Linke (2.1%), UWG/FW (1.8%), and Die PARTEI (1.1%). The mayoral election will proceed to a runoff between incumbent Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) and challenger Anissa Saysay.

The city administration, under the leadership of Chief Election Officer and First Deputy Mayor Fritz Bezold, has assured that the municipal election night will be transparent and engaging for everyone. Immediate reactions from politics will be shared during the event, and leading candidates and party representatives will give short interviews and share their initial assessments.

In addition to the city council and mayoral elections, the district council and county council elections will also be presented. For the election of the Integration Council, 5% of the 14,908 eligible voters have applied for postal voting, amounting to 746 voters. As of Monday, September 1, 25.32% of the 50,584 eligible voters for the city council and mayoral elections have already applied for postal voting, which amounts to 12,808 voters.

The WDR live stream will be integrated into the presentation, providing updates from neighboring municipalities. Citizens attending the event at the Kulle can follow the latest results live, while those tuning in from home can watch the live broadcast on WDR.
