Actress Lara Dutta's father, retired Wing Commander LK Dutta, passed away at the age of 84 on May 31, 2025. Lara was seen attending her father's funeral with her husband, former tennis champion Mahesh Bhupathi. The cause of Dutta's demise remains undisclosed.
According to a report by Viral Bhayani, Lara was seen wearing white and accompanied by family members and close friends as she walked to the crematorium. The Indian Air Force also paid tribute to Dutta, with a few Air Force personnel seen leaving the crematorium following the ceremony.
Recently, Lara Dutta shared photos from a family function on her Instagram account, which coincided with her father's birthday and the 25th anniversary of her winning the Miss Universe title. In her post, she expressed her emotions over the day, acknowledging the fragility of life and expressing gratitude for the gifts she has received.
Lara Dutta will soon be seen in Welcome 3: Welcome To The Jungle, alongside Akshay Kumar, Aftab Shivdasani, and Suniel Shetty. The film is set for release later this year.
A Chautha (fourth-day prayer service) is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on June 3, 2025, due to the passing of Lara Dutta's father.
