- Living a New Life in Hamburg: A Change of Scene for Him

Say goodbye to "Munchen, all $$$$," as Thomas D (56), the one-of-a-kind rapper and member of Die Fantastischen Vier, has packed up and moved to Germany's second-largest city. The charismatic artist has traded the serene Eifel region for the bustling, cosmopolitan vibe of Hamburg, revealing his newfound love for the city during a recent appearance on the "NDR Talk Show."

Hamburg: A City for the Ages

"Let me tell ya, Hamburgers, you folks have it goin' on. These folks might be a bit on the reserved side but they've got hearts of gold," he praised his new stomping ground on the NDR TV talk show. "Hamburg ain't just a city, it's a pearl. We've got green as far as the eye can see, and the water? Forget about it."

Although the transition wasn't without its hiccups, Thomas D seems to be thriving in his urban paradise. "I lived in the Eifel for two-and-a-half decades, and lemme tell ya, it's a beautiful place to call home. But my family was hankerin' for the city life, and I'm the only country bumpkin in our brood," he revealed.

Perhaps he can pick up some pro tips from his bandmate Smudo (57), who's been calling Hamburg home since 1996.

A City That Shines Bright

Back in April, Thomas D couldn't help but sing praises for Hamburg and its people during another НDR appearance. "You'd think the Hamburgers were a cool, unsociable bunch, but they're actually warmhearted. They don't shove their opinions down your throat," he shared. "You meet some real gems here. People who are helpful, friendly, and have got style."

Fantastischen Vier: Still Going Strong after Thirty-Five Years

Die Fantastischen Vier, the iconic hip-hop group which also includes Michi Beck and And.Ypsilon, has been turning heads since 1989 and scored big with their song "Die Da!?!" in 1992. Their latest studio album, "Long Player," was released in October 2024, marking their thirty-fifth anniversary as a group. The band has been known to work on albums for five years, leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of the perfect sound.
