Liverpool seems to be making a comeback after a relatively subdued transfer window last year. They've already signed Jeremie Frimpong as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold who's off to Real Madrid, and reports suggest a massive £116 million deal for Frimpong's former teammate, Florian Wirtz, has been agreed. There are also whispers of a deal with Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez to join the Reds.

The Exit of Darwin Nunez?

Liverpool managed to rake in almost £10m from Alexander-Arnold's sale, but if they wish to continue spending, they'll need to offset it with player sales. And it looks like one such sale could involve Darwin Nunez, who's been linked with the Anfield exit for quite some time.

Last season, Nunez made just eight Premier League starts due to underwhelming performance, and reports suggest his time at Liverpool could be over. In January, Liverpool rejected a €70m bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, but Nunez himself doesn't seem keen on a move to Saudi Arabia.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that both AC Milan and Napoli are interested in Nunez, valued at €60m by Liverpool. He scored 40 goals in 143 appearances over the past three seasons, but his return of five Premier League goals last season seems to have convinced Liverpool it's time for a change.

In our view, a separation might suit both parties. Nunez is valued at €45m by Transfermarkt, so if the Reds could recoup their €60m investment, it'd be a decent deal. This would free up funds for Liverpool to pursue new forward prospects like Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike.

Transfer Rumors

  • Napoli: The Serie A champions are driving hard to sign Nunez this summer. They have already proposed an opening offer and are in discussions with Liverpool.
  • Arsenal: The Premier League club has been linked with interest in Nunez, but Napoli appears to be in the lead at this stage.
  • Saudi Arabian clubs: There's been interest from Saudi Arabia, but Nunez seems determined to stay in Europe to revive his form and reputation.

Liverpool's potential sale of Darwin Nunez could help fund their sports expenses, particularly in the football sector, as they aim to bolster their forward line. Reports suggest that Napoli is actively pursuing Nunez, with discussions between the clubs underway, potentially steering him away from Premier League interest.
