Liverpool anticipates financial gain from potential transfers, as they prepare for potential taken of their players by fellow Premier League competitors, according to a report.
Liverpool Transfers: Potential Departures of Elliott and Morton to West Ham
In the latest transfer news, West Ham United have expressed interest in signing two Liverpool players, Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton. However, the high asking price for Elliott and the lack of detailed updates on Morton's situation have presented some challenges.
Harvey Elliott
West Ham have been keen on signing Elliott, but Liverpool's £50 million asking price is considered too steep for the London club. Before making any progress, West Ham planned to assess Elliott's fitness, particularly his recovery from a broken foot that kept him out for 18 games last season. Fortunately, Elliott has been injury-free in 2025.
Elliott has reportedly agreed personal terms for a move away from Liverpool, indicating his desire to leave for career advancement. His motivation to leave could be a plus for West Ham if they manage to secure his transfer, as it could increase his chances of being selected for the senior England squad.
Tyler Morton
West Ham also have interest in Morton, but the details of his situation are less clear. The discussions for Morton are ongoing, but there is less information available compared to the more prominent Elliott negotiations.
Other Transfers
Liverpool have been active in the transfer market this summer, signing six players, including Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong. They have also sold Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah for £18 million and £35 million respectively.
Meanwhile, West Ham are reportedly considering selling home-grown player Harvey Elliott. If selling Elliott benefits Liverpool's accounts and enhances his first-team opportunities, it could work out for all parties. The proceeds from a potential sale of Elliott would go down as pure profit on Liverpool's books.
Marc Guehi, valued at €30 million by Transfermarkt, is another player West Ham have shown interest in. There is 'optimism' at West Ham that a deal for Guehi could be struck.
Transfermarkt values Tyler Morton at €7 million. West Ham have not yet lodged a bid for Guehi, but there is ongoing interest in both Elliott and Morton.
