Live Updates on Man Utd Transfers: New Bid for Mbeumo, Potential Shocking Move for Jackson, Aston Villa Interested in Garnacho
Manchester United's transfer window has been a flurry of activity, with several potential signings on the horizon. One of the most prominent targets is Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, while the interest in Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson is also growing.
In the case of Mbeumo, Manchester United have made multiple bids, with their most recent offer totalling approximately £70 million. This matches Brentford's asking price, causing a delay in negotiations. The Bees, however, have rejected two previous bids from United, including one up to £62.5 million. United's co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and director of football Jason Wilcox reportedly value Mbeumo closer to £65 million and have shown reluctance to overpay, given the club's recent financial caution and cost-cutting measures.
Mbeumo himself is said to be frustrated with the prolonged negotiations but remains professional and keen to join Manchester United. The club wanted to finalize the transfer before the squad's pre-season tour of the United States, but talks are still ongoing as of mid-July 2025.
As for Nicolas Jackson, there is reportedly genuine interest from Manchester United, according to recent discussions on social media and reports from football journalists. However, the information on Jackson's transfer negotiations is less concrete, with speculation and some negative reactions from fans. No official bids or detailed progress on a deal for Jackson have been confirmed publicly as of mid-July 2025.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also keeping tabs on other players, such as Brentford's Yoane Wissa, Brighton's Pervis Estupinan, and Paris Saint-Germain's Lucas Beraldo. Aston Villa have registered an interest in Alejandro Garnacho, with both Villa and Manchester United looking to sell the youngster to generate maximum profit under financial fair play rules.
In other news, the latest Home Office statistics found that there were 1,803 football-related arrests involving supporters of clubs in the top 6 tiers in English football in 2024-25. United fans had the highest tally of any club, with 121 arrests. Nearly a third of these arrests were for public disorder, a fifth for violent disorder, and 19% for possession of Class A drugs. The 685 new banning orders handed out by magistrates in the course of the year took the total in operation to 2,439, the highest number since 2013.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim's post-season comments implied swift decisions, but many transfer moves have not yet been finalized. The club's pursuit of Mbeumo and the emergence of interest in Jackson will undoubtedly continue to captivate fans as the transfer window progresses.
