Darwin Núñez Completes Move to Al-Hilal for Record Fee

Darwin Núñez has completed a permanent transfer from Liverpool to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, marking a significant move in the transfer market. The deal, reportedly worth up to £56.6 million (€65 million), sees Núñez depart Liverpool after scoring 40 goals in 143 appearances since joining in 2022.

Núñez, aged 26, was a key player for Liverpool, contributing to their Premier League-winning squad in the 2023-24 season and impressing during pre-season with a quick hat-trick in one match. His departure leaves Liverpool with a void to fill, as they begin restructuring their squad.

At Al-Hilal, Núñez is expected to lead the attack as the club aims to reclaim the Saudi league title under coach Simone Inzaghi. The club has also signed French full-back Theo Hernandez from AC Milan this summer.

The transfer is subject to international clearance but has been officially confirmed by both clubs. Núñez's move to Al-Hilal could pave the way for other transfer activities, particularly at Liverpool, where they may be looking to strengthen their squad following his departure.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United have made a bigger offer to RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko, but the decision on his transfer could rest with the player's preference. Sesko has reportedly shown interest in a move to Manchester United, adding another layer of intrigue to the transfer saga.
